NOTE

The album was recorded intermittently for a long time over almost a year from February 1977 to January 1978.

Work began at EMI's Abbey Road studios, where five tracks were recorded over the course of two months. The group then took a month's vacation, after which they headed to the Virgin Islands. A significant part of the material was recorded on a yacht at sea in the US Virgin Islands using Record Plant Mobile Studio. After these sessions concluded, the band took another break. Recording continued in August, this time in Scotland.

The recordings were mixed throughout November, and in the first half of December at A.I.R. Studios in London, overdubbing of string arrangements took place. After the Christmas holidays, work on the album was completed at Abbey Road studios.

In September, the main composition of 'Wings' lost two musicians. Drummer Joe English returned to America, and guitarist Jimmy McCulloch joined the 'Small Faces'. For this reason, a collage of photographs of the remaining three band members was used for the album cover in early 1978 (see Pic. 1-4).

Альбом записувався з перервами тривалий час протягом майже року з лютого 1977 року по січень 1978 року.

Робота почалася e студії EMI на Abbey Road, де протягом двох місяців було записано 5 композицій. Потім група взяла місячну відпустку, після якої вирушила на Віргінські острови. Значна частина матеріалу була записана на яхті у морі саме на Віргінських островах США за допомогою мобільної студії Record Plant. Після завершення цих сесій гурт зробив ще одну перерву. Запис продовжився в серпні, цього разу у Шотландії.

Весь листопад відбувалося зведення записів, а у першій половині грудня на студії A.I.R. у Лондоні відбувалися накладення струнних аранжувань. Після різдвяних канікул робота над платівкою була повністю завершена у студії Abbey Road.

У вересні основний склад ‘Wings‘ позбувся двох музикантів. Барабанщик Джо Інгліш повернувся до Америки, а гітарист Джиммі МакКаллох приєднався до гурту ‘Small Faces‘. З цієї причини для обкладинки альбому на початку 1978 року було використано колаж із фотографій трьох учасників гурту, що залишилися (див. Мал. 1-4).
